Morning Star
A Morning Star is a three-candle bullish reversal pattern: a long bearish candle, a small-bodied candle that gaps lower, and a long bullish candle that closes well into the first candle's body.
The sequence tells a story in three acts — strong selling, a pause where sellers lose control, then buyers taking over decisively — making it one of the more dependable bottom-reversal setups.
- Candle 1: long bearish candle continuing the downtrend.
- Candle 2: small body (the 'star'), gapping down from candle 1 — shows indecision.
- Candle 3: long bullish candle closing above the midpoint of candle 1's body.
- Entry is commonly taken on the close of the third candle or on a pullback afterward.
